St. Ignace is the trailhead to hundreds of miles of groomed snowmobile trails criss-crossing the entire Upper Peninsula. Trails are directly accessed from area motels. For a unique experience, you can snowmobile across the "Ice Bridge" to Mackinac Island (you cross at your own risk), or follow the trails to the frozen beauty of Tahquamenon Falls State Park. ATTENTION!! - Snowmobilers Crossing the Mackinac Bridge
The Mackinac Bridge Authority will be on call to transport you and your sled 8 am to 8 pm, 7 days a week. The cost is $10 per sled. Phone 906-643-7600 for pick up or info.
