2010 U.P. Pond Hockey Championship
February 19-21, 2010
The 2010 U.P. Pond Hockey Championship will be played on the Wild Ice of Moran Bay, Lake Huron, downtown St. Ignace, Michigan! We hope to have 160 teams competing for prizes!
Teams that competed in 2009 will automatically have a spot held for them for the 2010 championship as long as we have their registration and payment by January 1, 2010 (registration forms are not available yet).

2009 Division Winning Teams!!!
Winner in the 40 & Over Gold Division was the Ford team, from Dearborn, Michigan!
Winners in the 30 & Over Bronze Division were the Mystery Men, from Pleasant Ridge, Michigan!
Keg Flies won the 21 & Over Bronze Division. They are from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
The team that won the 21 & Over Copper Division is U & I Lounge, from Traverse City, Michigan.
The 21 & Over Tin Division was won by Peaches & Dreams, from Warren, Michigan.
Colleen's Irish Pub won the Novice Division. They are from Holt, Michigan.

2009 U.P. Pond Hockey Results
What a great weekend of friendly weather (Saturday could have been nicer!)and good times on Moran Bay! St. Ignace Special Events Committee, together with Labatt Blue, Kewadin Casinos, & Classic Rock "The Bear", presented Hardwood Championship Cups and Labatt jerseys to victorious teams in thirteen divisions this year.

Format: 4 on 4 hockey with NO GOALIES on a lot of 75 'x 150' outside rinks with snow bank boards played on Moran Bay overlooking Mackinac Island.
Friday afternoon/evening
- Games begin ~ 9:00 a.m. and end ~ 5:00 p.m.
- Bus Pub Crawl from ~6:00 p.m. - 2:30 a.m. thru St. Ignace.
Saturday all day/evening
- Games continue until 6:00 p.m., and Bus Pub Crawl from 6:00 p.m. - 2:30 a.m. thru St. Ignace
Sunday morning - Finals, Award presentations.

We plan to expand the number of divisions in 2010.
All players must be 21 or older before the championship.
All teams are guaranteed to play at least 3 games.
Prizes: Division winners will receive Labatt's jerseys and a hardwood championship cup.
The 2010 U.P. Pond Hockey Championship is open to the first 160 teams registered.
If we have an act of weather that prevents us from conducting the UP Pond Hockey Championship, all registration fees will be refunded. Any other money that has been expended will not be refunded.
Cost: $325 (proceeds benefit St. Ignace Hockey Association)
We will also have a rink available for open skating - so the kids will have something to do while you're playing!
