Things To Do

On The Water

From the imposing size and power of the Great Lakes – the Inland Seas – to the abundant rivers, lakes and streams, the St. Ignace area is an ideal venue for water enthusiasts.

Boat Cruises

The port at St. Ignace is the departure point for diverse cruises to satisfy the interests of any adventurer.  These include sunset cruises or lighthouse tours.

Boat  Launches

The City of St. Ignace maintains boat launches at points along the municipal waterfront. These include 4 ramps at Hazelton Street and a double-wide ramp at City Dock #3. The launches have amenities including restrooms, picnic areas and fish cleaning stations.

Ferry Transportation

Three passenger-ferry lines:  Arnold Transit Company, Shepler's Mackinac Island Ferry, and Star Line Mackinac Island Ferry, offer round-trip passage between St. Ignace and Mackinac Island. The ferry season opens when the ice goes out in spring and runs until after New Year when the channel freezes.

Fishing Charters

For those persons looking to reel in the big one, fishing charters such as Dream Seaker Fishing Charters & Tours or E.U.P. Fishing Charters are available through charter companies.

Marinas

Given the strategic location of St. Ignace, it is hardly surprising that there is an abundance of state-of-the-art resident and transient docking and slip facilities. Slips are available in St. Ignace at the St. Ignace Public Marina  and nearby at both the Mackinac Island State Dock and at the Mackinaw City Marina.
