Annual Labor Day Mackinac Bridge Walk
Join us for this once-annual opportunity to walk the Mackinac Bridge. The bridge walk will begin at 7:00 a.m. This year walkers will have the option of beginning your walk from St. Ignace or Mackinaw City. You will walk to mid-span, then turn around and return to either St. Ignace or Mackinaw City, depending on which location you began your walk at. If you reach mid-span before 10:00 a.m. you will be able to walk the entire bridge! Free parking and shuttle service to the start line in St. Ignace is available at Little Bear East Arena in St. Ignace. If you walk the entire bridge you will be responsible for finding your own transportation back across the bridge.
Shepler's Mackinac Island Ferry and Star Line Mackinac Island Ferry are offering another option for this year's bridge walk. If you are staying in St. Ignace and would like to walk the entire bridge, take one of their ferries from St. Ignace to Mackinaw City, walk the bridge and end up back in St. Ignace where your car is! Visit their websites for more info - Shepler's MI Ferry and Star Line MI Ferry
