Stomp in the Park - Hike/Snowshoe/Ski
Phone: 888-878-4462 Contact: St. Ignace Events Committee
If you haven't explored the St. Ignace landscape during the beautiful winter months, here's a unique opportunity you won't want to miss. Join us for "Stomp in the Park", an event that invites you to explore the picturesque outdoors by snowshoes, skis or hiking boots!
"Stomp in the Park" begins at 10am at the Brevort Lake Road trailhead of the North Country Trail, located approximately 10 miles west of St. Ignace on US-2. Bring the equipment of your choice and join us for a few hours of breathtaking beauty at a time when Mother Nature is covered with a frosty blanket. Bring water, camera, family, friends and skis or snowshoes! A snack will be provided from the Hiawatha Shore-to-Shore Chapter of the NCT Goodie Bucket.
Dress in layers for winter weather -- plan to spend two or three hours out on the trail. This is bushwhacking -- we will be breaking trail -- a real back country experience!
At 4:30 p.m. we will convene at Straits State Park for a special hike that will conclude with a bonfire on the beach overlooking the Mackinac Bridge in all its twinkling, nighttime glory. S'mores will be on the menu and a special prize will be awarded by the North Country Trail Association for the craziest hat, so be sure to wear yours!
It's a day of discovery and camaraderie - where you can join old friends or make new ones! Plan to join us for a "Stomp in the Park" and see the magic of winter firsthand.
